BORYS LOZHKIN HEADSHOTS

Borys Lozhkin, the Ukrainian entrepreneur and philanthropist who founded Ukrainian Media Holding and served as Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine under President Petro Poroshenko, booked a headshot session at a studio in central London on 16 July 2018, a few months after being elected President of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine.

That mix of roles, business founder, former senior government official, and head of a major civic organisation, meant no single register of headshot would cover his needs. The brief called for a flexible library: formal portraits against a clean white backdrop for official and press use, a darker, more considered register for editorial and personal branding contexts, and a relaxed, no-jacket set for informal or digital use.

The white-backdrop coverage kept things straightforward: a tight headshot and a full-length cutout, both lit evenly enough to be used interchangeably across bios, press materials, and official profiles regardless of context. Moving to a dark grey backdrop for the second register let the lighting do more work, softer and more directional, giving a seated three-quarter portrait a weight and gravity suited to editorial placement rather than a standard corporate headshot.

The casual set closed out the session: an open-collar shirt against white for a more approachable register, and a final portrait in a plain t-shirt and glasses against the dark backdrop, giving Lozhkin an option that reads as personal rather than official, useful for the kind of philanthropic and civic profile work that sits outside a strictly corporate context.

The delivered set gave Lozhkin a headshot library built for range rather than a single use case: formal enough for government and press contexts, considered enough for editorial placement, and relaxed enough for personal and philanthropic profiles, without needing a separate shoot for each register.
