ZARO.AI FOUNDER PORTRAITS

Zaro.ai commissioned a founder portrait session at Two Pancras Square in King's Cross to coincide with the company's pre-seed funding announcement, led by Cherry Ventures. The brief called for a flexible set of images: clean individual headshots for press bios and speaker profiles, and environmental duo shots establishing the founding team as a unit for launch coverage and ongoing media use.

Coverage split into two distinct registers. Indoor portraits used the building's glazed stairwell and window light for soft, directional falloff, close enough to isolate expression while keeping a hint of the workspace visible behind the subject. These frames needed to hold up cropped tight for a bio thumbnail or run large as an editorial lead image.

Outdoor coverage moved to the building's exterior, using King's Cross's concrete and signage as a graphic backdrop rather than a generic street scene. Midday sun created hard shadow lines across the facade, so positioning relied on falling light rather than fighting it, letting the architecture read as considered rather than incidental.

The duo shots needed to communicate partnership without slipping into stock-photo stiffness. Working the founders into the frame at slightly different depths, rather than a flat side-by-side line-up, gave the images a sense of dimension while keeping both faces sharp and evenly lit.

The delivered set gave Zaro.ai assets across their launch: press-ready headshots for the funding announcement, a hero image for founder-facing coverage, and a library of alternates for speaker submissions, LinkedIn, and future press requests without needing a second shoot.
