MARTIN RAJCAN HEADSHOTS

Martin Rajcan needed a new set of headshots to cover the range of roles he holds across venture capital: General Partner at Kaya VC, Principal at Tenet Global, and advisor to Blue Bear Capital. Rather than a studio booking, the session ran at his own flat in London on 26 February 2021, with a clean white backdrop set up for straightforward, versatile portraits that would work across all three firms' bios and profiles.

Coverage worked through a run of expressions and framing against the white backdrop, giving Martin a library of consistent, professional headshots rather than a single hero image, so each firm could pull the crop and expression that suited its own site or deck.

Towards the end of the shoot, Martin asked for something different: "something cool, something sci-fi." Swapping the white backdrop for green and blue gelled lighting produced a single high-contrast concept portrait, a sharp departure in tone from the rest of the set and proof that a headshot session doesn't have to stop at the straightforward brief.

Martin's partner had assisted throughout the shoot, holding reflectors and helping manage the lighting changes between setups. In return, Dan offered the couple a portrait together to close out the session, a small thank-you that turned into one of the strongest images from the day.

The delivered set gave Martin a flexible headshot library for use across Kaya VC, Tenet Global, and Blue Bear Capital, plus the one-off concept portrait and a personal couple's shot outside the brief.
